Performs administrative, clerical and purchasing services. Coordinates Pharmacy billing and charging activities.Qualifications and Experience
High School diploma with good typing and computer skills. Post-secondary education preferred. Three years clerical, purchasing or business experience; preferably in a pharmacy or hospital environment. Typing test will be given.
Makes decisions within the scope of position responsibilities, seeking assistance as appropriate. Decisions may have legal, ethical and financial impact on the Hospital. Key Relationships: Must have the ability to relate to all levels of management, staff, medical and nursing staff, colleagues, patients and visitors in a professional manner to achieve department/hospital goals. Problem Solving Ability: Solves problems within scope of position responsibilities, consulting with appropriate resources as necessary. May require interactions with medical and nursing staff, patients, business associates.
General Skills and Abilities Ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines. Ability to work cooperatively with all types of personalities inside and outside the organization. Ability to work independently, take initiative. Aptitude for math calculations. Flexibility to work occasionally outside of normal daytime work hours and take on projects at short notice.
Physical Requirements Concentrates on moderate to fine detail for extended periods of time. Must be able to hear normal sounds with some background noise. Remembers schedules, tasks to be completed, where activities left off, etc. Routinely lifts objects under 20 pounds.
