Activity Assistant - Full Time

The Activity Assistant will direct and/or assist with group activities to assure an ongoing program of group activities as well as individual activities according to the interests and abilities of the residents, provide food and refreshments, assist in the dining room and to maintain a safe, friendly environment.

Activity Assistant Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Ability to take direction from supervisor
• Good interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude
• General knowledge of the elderly and understanding of the physical and mental conditions they may experience
• Able to multi-task
• Pass a background check including fingerprinting if necessary
• Pass pre-employment health screening and drug screen
• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to providing top notch patient care and services

As an Activity Assistant at Heartwood Lodge you will be:

• Promoting hospitality and excellent customer service to our residents and their families
• Providing excellent customer service to facility guests and visitors
• Directing and/or assisting with group activities
• Documenting resident attendance and participation
• Visiting residents in their rooms
• Assisting with special events and outings
• Distributing resident mail and deliveries in a timely manner
• Following infection control policies and procedures
• Attending all mandatory staff meetings and completing all required annual educations
