Green Tree Country Club is a privately owned country club. All staff members are here to serve the needs of the membership with class and respect. This position will be interacting with our members on a regular basis. We have a great team in place and we all understand that our members come first!
Essential Duties:
- Closeout daily retail sales from the POS system through general ledger postings, monitor compliance with closing procedures, and verify discounts/voids/other items as applicable
- Prepare monthly standard journal entries
- Track and update the Chief Financial Officer regarding past due member accounts
- Communicate with members who continue to have past due accounts
- Enter new membership accounts, apply billing items, and communicate with the new members that their account is activated.
- Prepare monthly membership reporting
- Communicate with collection agency about member accounts in collections
- Manages and reconciles petty cash
- Prepare and send member statements each month
- Bill and reconcile reciprocal charges from other country clubs
- Assist Chief Financial Officer with annual audits
- Be of service to our members if they have issues with their account
- Supports the Chief Financial Officer with the preparation and development of annual budgets
- Responsible for making cash deposits at the bank
- Attends departmental and club training meetings.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the controller.
- Demonstration of cooperation, interest, and enthusiasm in support of the club's mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives.
- Performs essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field OR at least 2 years of professional accounting experience in a leadership role
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word.
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and have a strong desire to build systems and procedures
- Exhibits a "can-do" attitude to productively solve problems. Develop and propose solutions to problems that occur.
- Proven collaborator, diplomatic, supportive, well-respected, and contributing team member.
- Has a professional demeanor, a gracious attitude, and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments, team members, current and prospective Members, and business partners
- Knowledge of Club Essential is a plus
- Prior experience working in clubs or hospitality preferred
