A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK / ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE BOOKKEEPER

As an Accounts Payable Clerk / Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper, you play an essential bookkeeping role for our company. With exceptional attention to detail, you enter AR payments and pay our AP vendor invoices. Your ability to do AR invoicing in a timely manner with minimal discrepancies ensures we have a steady cash flow. You set up new AP vendors and obtain the necessary documents to complete their payments. Regularly, you make general ledger entries, perform general ledger reconciliations, make daily deposits, and generate monthly reports.

We also depend on you to do accurate job costing. You record invoices and technicians' hours into project management software to figure out job profitability and sales commissions. You prepare weekly reports for each project's totals paid and balances due. You are conscientious about adhering to company policies, practices, and procedures while ensuring proper checks and balances are maintained. You get great satisfaction out of making sure that everything is accurate and up-to-date.

Though you love a good ledger that lines up and balances perfectly and you do spend significant time working independently with data and figures, you also enjoy interacting with people. Drawing on your good customer service skills, you answer the phone cheerfully and answer both customer and staff questions patiently, rerouting calls as needed. As a team player, you work closely with your accounting and administrative coworkers on a variety of accounting-related functions.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK / ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE BOOKKEEPER

• 5+ years of bookkeeping experience
• Proficiency in Quickbooks and Excel is a must!
