What's the opportunity?

IMS is currently seeking an Accounting Supervisor for our Morton Grove, IL location. You will be responsible for accurate and timely accounting, reporting and analysis for industry leading clients reporting to the team lead. This position works closely with cross functional groups.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervise & develop accounting staff.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
• Assist with the coordination and execution of accurate and timely month-end close deliverables.
• Prepare and review Balance Sheet reconciliations for accuracy, verifying audit substantiation and ensuring reconciling items clear in a timely manner.
• Prepare and review financial reports to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting deliverables.
• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries and accounting transactions verifying appropriate audit substantiation.
• Efficiently extract and analyze large data from ERP system.
• Work cross-functionally to navigate accounting needs and recommend practical solutions.
• Provide audit documentation within deadlines
• Facilitate updated process and procedure documentation.
• Support working capital performance.
• Proactively communicate and escalate issues and concerns to team leadership.
• Support IMS policy and audit control compliance.
• Develop and maintain positive partnerships within finance and cross functional teams.
• Ask questions and seek out opportunity to grow professionally.

The skills and experience you have

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years experience.
• Strong organizational skills, problem-solving, with excellent communication skills.
• Team-player who can also work independently with attention to detail.
• Strong Excel skillset is an absolute must (Pivot table creation, VLOOKUP, If/then formulas, etc)
• Experience with ERP i.e., JD Edwards/AS 400 queries preferred.
• General ease learning new systems and tools.
