Description: Texans Credit Union has a great opportunity for Accounting Manager who has oversight of the Accounting Department. This role is tasked with financial statement preparation for the Credit Union, managing reporting for the quarterly 5300 Call Reports and ensuring all general ledgers and bank accounts are balanced and proper controls are maintained. This position will offer hybrid remote work options, however, a portion of the work is required to be completed at our Headquarters in Richardson, TX.

Major Duties and Essential Functions*
1. Prepares the financial statements for TCU and CUSOs
2. Manage and direct accounting duties including but not limited to accounts payable, bank reconciliations, GL reconciliations, sub-ledger balancing, investment portfolio accounting
3. Manage the GL system
4. Prepare the quarterly 5300 Call report
5. Interface with Auditors/Examiners
6. Interface with Tax Accountants for company tax returns
7. Researches appropriate information needed for general ledger entries or to resolve account entries. This person must be able to interact with Department Managers or Executives regarding questions, concerns, or errors seen while reconciling the Corporate CU accounts.
8. Prepare monthly management reports.
9. Support and drive the Texans cultural model throughout the departments, including incorporating fun and recognition into the Accounting work environment.
10. Responsible for holding accountable, coaching, and developing the Accounting staff. This includes reviewing timesheets, completing performance evaluations and creating training/development plans for staff.
11. Performs other job-related duties as assigned
12. Ensure the department stays with the established budget.

Requirements: Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:
- Work involves high level of analytical skill and/or imagination to develop solutions or establish new practices/procedures to meet new or changing situations.
- Work involves interpersonal relationships for the purpose of exchanging technical, important or sensitive information where discussion, interpretation and explanation may be required.
- Tact and diplomacy is required.
- Ability to operate desk top computer and associated peripheral equipment, and use Credit Union software programs.
Education: Accounting degree from a four-year college or university with five to seven years of related experience.
Experience: Five to seven years of accounting experience and/or training. May substitute related experience for education.
