ACCOUNTING CLERK, IN PROPERTY MANAGEMENT/ RENTALS DIVISION
LOCATION: Naples, Florida
JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Clerk in the Property Management / Rentals Division, will be responsible for managing and processing the long term and short-term rentals, while handling property accounting tasks.They are responsible for completing sound financial analysis and balance sheet account reconciliation. In addition, they prepare regular reports (usually monthly), based on organizational objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process accounts payable invoices, approximately 20-50 per day.
- Prepare and process check disbursements on a weekly basis along with attaching support documentation to check for signature review and approval.
- Follow procedures related to vouching new vendors to set up to properly produce IRS Form MISC 1099 forms at year end.
- Post daily checks received from owner and tenants, high volume dealing with deposits.
- Process weekly and daily check runs.
- Prior experience using software systems i.e. RNS, Escapia, Appfolio, Rentec Direct, Streamline etc.
- Preparing and remitting monthly sales and occupancy tax returns.
- Accurately reports tenant payments received, performs account analysis and reconciliations of tenant and owner accounts.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- A State of Florida Real Estate license is preferred.
- Min of three (3) years of experience in Residential Property Management
- Experience in creating, printing, and managing year end IRS Form MISC 1099’s, and 1042’s
- An understanding of trust accounting, and how to properly treat and manage escrow funds
- Strong in Excel and Microsoft Suite
- Detailed oriented
- Good analytical skills
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
