The Accounting & Finance Specialist reports to the Accounting & Finance Manager and is a part of the Administration Team, whose focus and key result is organizational strength, ensuring that we are effectively managing assets – both people and profits.

The Accounting & Finance Specialist ensures the timely and accurate processing of accounting and payroll data for all lines of business for BPA Health while maintaining corporate standards. They successfully aid the Accounting & Finance Department in the daily, monthly, and yearly activities including generating financial reports, developing budgets, preparing taxes, assisting with audits and resolving discrepancies.

Essential Functions:

· Administer all aspects of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including payments, deposits, invoicing and AR aging

· Record all AR and AP transactions in General Ledger system

· Digitally file and maintain all accounting and payroll data

· Monitor bank accounts to ensure sufficient funds among different accounts based on pending liabilities

· Accurately and timely prepare bi-weekly payroll, including benefits

· Respond to internal and external accounting and payroll inquiries without direct supervision.

· Review all financial statements

Secondary Functions:

· Ensure relevant business processes are efficient and initiate changes where needed

· Prepare ad hoc analysis related to financial data and key performance indicators

· Maintain operating procedures files

· Perform other duties as assigned or needed

· Employ growth mindset to refine and add to skillset

Requirements

Experience and/or Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting or Finance or 3 – 5 years equivalent experience

Skills & Competencies:

· Skilled in using Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel

· Working knowledge of Sage 100 accounting software, Paylocity payroll, and QuickBooks a plus

· General understanding of GAAP accounting principles

· Ability to accurately and efficiently analyze data

· Superior internal and external customer service

· Excellent interpersonal skills with high-level verbal and written communication, organizational and analytical skills

· Learning-oriented, ability to learn new procedures and follow current procedures and best practices

· Precise with attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to manage projects

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
