The Accountant's responsibilities include preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing journal entries, analyses, and assist with monthly close processes.
  • Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and journal entries to accurately depict company financial performance in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure all financial transactions within the company are accounted for and follow GAAP.
  • Perform general bookkeeping and organize financial forms, documents, and receipts.
  • Present quarterly and yearly financial reports to management.
  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow and flash reports for parent company.
  • Provide assistance to the accounts payable, invoicing, cash applications, and accounts receivable functions, as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of the yearly budget.
  • Generate and file state and local tax returns as required.
  • Analyzing month over month expense variances while working directly with others to improve month end close processes.
  • Execute and improve monthly closing activities in accordance with internal checklists and calendars.
  • Perform bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts.
  • Maintain fixed asset system and prepare monthly capital expenditure summary.
  • Assist in maintaining the internal control environment necessary to safeguard company assets through continual evaluation, development, and documentation of business and accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Implemented new policies and procedures to improve and streamline processes.
  • Provided training to accounting and operations staff as necessary.
  • Participate in all physical inventories.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or related field, 1-3 years’ financial management experience.
  • Impeccable math and analytical skills.
  • Excellent Excel (pivot tables, vlookup) skills required.
  • Experience with Sage X3 (or similar ERP software) along with data retrieval tools required.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making.
  • Energetic, hands-on mentality, highly motivated, with an inquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in the pursuit of business growth and success.
  • Strong motivation to learn and contribute imperative.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills a must; strong collaboration.
