Title: Senior AccountantJob Summary:
Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant performs a variety of professional level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records and reports of Omni Family Health. All duties performed will be in accordance with GAAP, established policies and procedures, as well as Federal and State requirements.
Job Duties:
1. Responsible for general ledger account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness on a monthly basis.
2. Responsible to review and/or prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
3. Responsible for all of the bank and investment account analysis and reconciling to the general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
4. Responsible for reviewing accounts payable batches for proper coding, adequate supporting documentation, completeness, and accuracy.
5. Responsible for recording, tracking, and maintaining the fixed assets in the accounting management system.
6. Lead the month end close process. This includes ensuring that all account analysis, reconciliations and journal entries are completed in a timely manner.
7. Assists in the annual financial audit including providing supporting analysis and schedules. May assists auditors by researching issues and responding to questions.
8. Develop and maintain a variety of financial spreadsheets to be used for tracking and analysis of accounting data.
9. Track, maintain, reconcile, and transfer CIP to asset accounts once the project is completed and there is reasonable certain that all expenses have been entered in the ERP system.
10. Maintain and update site listing and codes including setting up the general ledger code and description for new locations.
11. Responsible for working with the audit firm to gather information and documents necessary for the completion and submission of the rate setting and other audits as necessary.
12. Responsible for allocating all grant expenses by program “HRSA and other” and gather backup documentation. Request to support withdrawal from PMS.
13. Responsible for providing all documentation required for the New Market Tax Credit.
14. Responsible for reconciling the accounts receivable aging report to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
15. Responsible for the set up of general ledger codes for new grants for the purpose of tracking, and invoicing when required.
16. May be required to assist in the training, oversight, and evaluation of new or entry level Accountants.
17. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) have been developed, reviewed, and updated for each task/duty within their area of responsibility.
18. Other duties as required or directed by the immediate supervisor, manager, or CFO.
Additional Duties
1. HIPAA compliance – responsible for maintaining current knowledge of and in compliance with all H.I.P.A.A. regulations and requirements. Treats all member information confidential.
2. Compliance – Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
3. QA/QI – Participate in QA/QI activities and contribute toward the overall performance improvement of the organization.
4. IT – Required to learn and use the financial management system, MIP and its components, as required by the job functions and highlighted in the Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or a business related field required.
2. Five years of experience working in accounting or a business related field is expected.
3. Good problem solving and time management skills.
4. Self-starter who is able to work effectively independently or with others.
5. Highly organized and detail oriented.
6. Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
7. High level of accuracy is required.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly excel.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Ability to effectively use an accounting management system.
11. Excellent customer service with external customers and OFH staff is required.
12. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and auditing principals and procedures.
13. Promotes and supports OFH mission statement.
14. Ability to relate to the public regardless of ethnic, religious and economic status.
