Higher Education Software Account Executive

The Account Executive (AE) is the first line of direct contact for potential new clients to Softdocs’s one of a kind enterprise content management platform in the Ed-Tech industry.

The AE will be engaged in both outbound communications and virtual demonstrations to inbound leads while working in tandem with assigned Account Development Representatives (ADR’s). In addition, the AE is responsible for working with Client Success post sales to ensure a successful new client onboarding with Softdocs.

Responsibilities and Key Traits:
  • Identify and qualify key aspects of a potential lead, including need, budget, time frame and decision-making responsibility
  • Meet pipeline contribution metrics
  • Move sales forward by actively engaging in full sales process on accounts
  • Communicate information about calls accurately and effectively to management
  • Follow up with prospective clients who have fallen out of the sales cycle or been non-responsive after initial contact
  • Learn about industries, systems, and products quickly and accurately
  • Successfully communicate with contacts via phone, email, and Zoom daily
  • Manage time wisely, and work independently with limited supervision

Job Requirements:

Required
  • Solution and technology expertise: Developing deep understanding of Softdocs’s products and services
  • Market expertise: Developing and maintaining deep understanding of the overall Ed-Tech market, with a focus on the institutions or districts in the AE’s territory
  • Sourcing, creating and managing new opportunities
  • Preparing and executing on quarterly and annual plans, to include account strategies, from prospecting through renewal
  • Successfully closing opportunities, which includes generating and managing the execution of all related contracts
  • Participating in the training and onboarding of new staff
  • Contributing to the overall success of the team, which may include projects and duties that benefit the overall team or company
  • Completing thought leadership activities, which provides professional development opportunities and also promotes the Softdocs brand

Preferred
  • Experience selling enterprise content management software
  • Experience selling to colleges and universities in the Northeast US
  • Experience selling to higher education school districts across the USA
  • Passion for bridging the disparity gap in education and track record in democratizing educational equity

How Performance Is Measured:
  • Total new sales deals closed
  • Total new generated sales pipeline, 4X pipeline compared to quota
  • New qualified leads created
  • Volume of outreaches via email, social media, and phone calls
  • Cleanliness of CRM data
