We are a Central Pennsylvania based Non-profit Hospice & Post-Acute Healthcare Organization specializing in home-centered care and we are seeking a talented Full Time Account Executive. This position works collaboratively with the Account Executive team to create market development within York, Adams and Franklin counties. The Account Executive will increase referrals from healthcare professionals in hospitals, home health agencies, long-term care communities and physician offices. The success of this position derives solely from the provider relationships that result in the admission of eligible patients. Represents the organization as a hospice consultant and subject matter expert.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary plus quarterly bonus potential plus mileage reimbursement.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree with 5+ years healthcare sales and marketing experience required.
  • 2+ years sales and marketing experience required; hospice, home health, or healthcare sales and marketing experience preferred.
  • Commitment to the hospice philosophy of care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work closely with a variety of people while effectively using problem solving skills.
  • Coordinate communications and follow-up as needed between multiple departments.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of referral patterns in the service area.
  • Willing to learn Medicare regulations and related reimbursement issues for hospice and long-term care.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.
  • Willingness to learn CRM and market intelligence system (Trella).
  • Team player within the department, and with the clinical and operational teams.

Responsibilities:

Ability to Build Relationships with Referral Sources

  • Build relationships with appropriate physicians in the assigned territory who influence or make referral decisions to familiarize them with Hospice of Central PA.
  • Build relationships with appropriate hospital staff, discharge planners and floor nurses, to establish a positive referral relationship.
  • Build relationships with appropriate long-term care facility administrative and clinical staff to establish a positive referral relationship.
  • Participate in committees and on special projects and other related duties to establish relationships and build community networks.

Provide Hospice Knowledge

  • Partners with HCP clinical staff to provide educational programs and other opportunities to referral sources in territory.
  • Meet with appropriate healthcare staff to familiarize them with the patient characteristics and needs that indicate an appropriate hospice referral.
  • Develop opportunities to coordinate educational events, veteran recognition events and presentations for physician offices, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, residential communities and other healthcare providers.

Service Excellence

  • Communicate appropriately with providers, attending physicians, other appropriate hospice staff members, and other agencies as needed to ensure excellent provider relations.
  • Work closely with the HCP staff, clinical leadership and all team members to ensure that promised services are provided.
  • Follow-up with referrals sources regarding all inquiries and any service concerns.
  • Collaborate with admission/intake department and HCP clinical staff to promote organizational growth.

Account Development Planning

  • Create and present quarterly growth plans for the territory. Accountable for the goals of that plan.
  • Maintain daily documentation in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, including daily call schedules, and meeting notes
  • Develop new accounts to drive quarterly growth in the territory.
  • Demonstrate ownership of/commitment to team census for the territory.
  • Generate additional referrals to exceed goal based on the prior quarter.
  • Focus on non-hospital admissions and all admissions that drive census growth for the organization.

Professional Behavior

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Participate in hospice orientation, and ongoing education programs.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the Hospice Conditions of Participation, policies of the agency and state and federal regulations pertaining to hospice services.
  • Demonstrate proficiency for and willingness to secure consents and hold informational meetings with families as requested in the territory.
  • Demonstrate compliance with all reporting processes.
  • Assist with the “unknown but likely to occur events” that arise related to referral development.
