Position Description

South Lane School District is accepting applications for outstanding candidates for the position of school bus driver to work split shifts driving regular and special needs routes.

Essential Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess the following:

• Required licenses and certificates OR the ability to obtain them within District time frames. These include:

1. Valid State of Oregon Commercial Drivers License (CDL)

2. Medical Examiner's Certificate

3. Oregon Department of Education (ODE) Pupi Transportation Certificate

4. Valid First aid Card

• Ability to operate any and all-district buses and bus equipment.
• Ability to drive safely under the pressure of time constraints, student misbehavior, hazardous road conditions, and traffic demands.
• Punctuality and ability to pace activity to meet time schedules.
• Ability to represent the district's objectives of courtesy and responsibility to the public.
• Experiences differentiating practices for diverse populations.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, staff, and community populations.
• Ability to remain available for daily driving assignments
• Must be available for driver training and/or testing prior to beginning the position.

Successful applicants must comply with the OHA rule on the COVID-19 vaccine mandate by either being fully vaccinated or have an accepted religious or medical exception by the South Lane School District. The candidate must sign a safety expectation form if granted a medical or religious exception. Salary

Determined by previous relevant experience and the current salary schedule.
